Welcome to the website for Kindling Space, a community group that meet regularly around a campfire in Brighton, UK.
We are a peer gathering rather than a therapeutic facilitated circle. That’s not to say healing doesn’t happen here too. Just in a more subtle, organic, natural way. Through connections, held by nature.
Our aims are to:
- Help people connect and make new friends
- Spend time outdoors around a campfire
- Meet regularly to build and grow connections
We meet throughout the year, including weekly in the winter when it’s cold and dark.
How did Kindling Space begin?
I started Kindling Space in 2021 as a peer support campfire group, for women with lived experience of trauma. We had many magical evenings together around the fire. ✨ It hasn’t been running for a while and I was inspired to start it again for the winter of 2025/26. This time with more of a focus on social connections.
What do we do?
Kindling Space hosts regular campfires at a private space in Stanmer Park. Drop-in sessions for all ages and genders, to build our community. Dogs and children are welcome. We alternate the days for our meetings, to allow people with different schedules to attend. 🔥
The meetings are loosely facilitated and develop organically, with lots of time and space to naturally connect with each other and chat about things around the campfire whilst cooking and sharing.
A simple modern campfire group, reviving ancient community architecture. Let’s see what magic we build together around the fire!
You can find more info on the rest of the website – see the Events page for details of upcoming campfires, and FAQs here.
