What is Kindling Space?
Kindling Space is a social campfire group that meets regularly in the woods outside Brighton. We are a peer group designed to connect people for friendship.
When is it?
We hold regular campfires (weekly throughout the winter of 2025/26). Meetings are on alternating days to allow people with different schedules the opportunity to attend.
Who is it for?
All genders & ages. Children are welcome from 6-8pm and 8-10pm is for adults 18+ only. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. 🐶
How many people go to the campfires?
We aim for a group of around 12 people, to give us the opportunity to connect with each other.
Where is it?
The campfire is hosted at a private space in Stanmer Park, Brighton, BN1 9SE. We send a meeting point and joining instructions in advance to everyone who has reserved a spot.
What about the weather?
The space we use has a covered outdoor area (underneath a parachute!), so we are dry in case it rains. It may be cold, wrap up warm!
What to bring?
You are invited to bring things to play & share (instruments, art, movement practices etc.). We cook together over the fire, so please bring food, snacks & drinks to share. Bring a blanket & cushion to sit on and make yourself comfy. Wear suitable warm clothes and shoes – the ground is uneven and muddy. It will be a sober space, don’t bring alcohol or other substances.
How much does it cost?
This is a non-commercial not-for-profit peer gathering. We ask for a donation to cover plot hire, firewood and other small expenses which I have to pay up front. It’s pay-as-you-feel with a recommended donation of £5. Open to other exchanges if money is tight. Additional donations are welcome if you are able and keen to support us further. 🙏🏼
What happens if I can’t make it?
I know that life happens and plans and health can change at the last minute. Please let us know if you can’t make it. We can’t refund donations, but we can welcome you to a future campfire instead.
How can I join?
It will be great to see you there! Please reserve your space and make a donation in advance. Spaces are limited and we have a lot more interest than expected. If we’re full, keep an eye out for our next campfire coming very soon!
